Lots to say!

So let's see....how long has it been since I've blogged? I meant to blog either Sunday or Monday night but it didn't happen--I was just too exhausted! So we went down South Saturday and took Angela back with us. We (Angela, Jonah, Requay and I) dropped Jason off over at Howard's house (a long time friend of Jason's who has been in ill health lately and Jason goes to help with the horses, fixing fences, or really whatever Howard can't manage on his own) So anyway, we dropped Jason off and the rest of us headed over to Angela's house to play! Well, it would have been great....if we hadn't run out of gas about 50 yards from the gas station!! We "coasted" into the gas station and filled up right quick....like we had any choice in the matter! Jason was supposed to have filled up in one of the little towns on the way down, but everyone fell asleep and Jason didn't think about it...oh well, at least we were close enough to coast!

Angela and I tried our hardest to "tire-out" the kids so that they would sleep, but it didn't work too well. They wanted to stay up and play, so Angela gave her first massage (she's a massage therapist) while her "client" was nursing! How weird is that--Angela said she's NEVER even heard of that! Obviously she hadn't met my little girl who still insists on "mo"! The kids played and played all day and all night! We were exhausted!!

The next day, Sunday, the kids and I woke up, got dressed, picked Jason up, and drove to my Mom and Dad's to meet them at church. Jonah right away went to sit with his Lito/Lita so it was just Requay and I at the back of the church (we were a bit late--oops!)....I left Jason in the truck b/c he was too stinky to go into church, and plus he wanted to sleep. Requay had on this cute purple flower dress that Angela had just "handed down" and it had this little bonnet with it....Baby Girl looked SOOOO sweet and just about everyone passing by had to touch her--didn't want any "ojo"!

After church, we went to eat and then went to see my Mamo (my Mom's Mom, my grandmother, and the kid's great-grandmother) in the nursing home.....I love just sitting there watching her! I like to see all her little wrinkles and delicate hands that look just like my Mom's and touch her soft skin and not really do anything much except look at her trying to take in every little bit of her that I can! Mamo wasn't feeling her best that day so she slept alot, but the kids got to play in her wheelchair--Dad took them for rides and at one point we happened to look around and couldn't find Jonah...but then we heard an imitation "Mozart" playing the piano in the sitting room of the nursing home. And who could have wondered his little way to the piano when all the elderly just want peace and quiet? Yep, Jonah! He was playing a tune for his Mamo!

I got to see my sister while I was there too! I hadn't seen her in a while....it was good to see her! I told her to be good, stay out of trouble, and to help Mom with the housework! Normal "big sister stuff". We had fun sitting and talking. Dad couldn't get enough of the kids and kept kissing them and hugging them!! I think the kids liked it too! It was a really good day but when it was time to leave, Jonah DID NOT want to leave! He wanted his Lito/Lita....he didn't want to give them good-bye hugs or kisses and just wanted to stay there with his Lito/Lita....it was actually quite sad. We left with Jonah's little head down and all sad :o(

Jonah misses his Lito and his Lita so much that he can't get enough of them when he's with them! And he's counting down the days till he sees his Lito/Lita! He's called to talk to them every day...THIS morning he called at about 6:20 AM--he woke them up just to tell them that it was almost time to see them! So sweet......

First 5K!

So now that we're finished with swim lessons, we were SO incredibly wiped out from the past 2 weeks, that we pretty much just kept our Friday night low key! Kevin and Angela made it into town late and we didn't get to bed until about midnight....and then were up for our first 5K run at 5AM! We did so much better than we expected!! Of course Angela and her long legs completely "over-ran" me by like almost 9 minutes, but I made it at my best time! 3.1 miles in 38 minutes!! I'm so proud of myself and Angela...half marathon here we come!

The kiddos are feeling much better, Requay is still on the antibiotics and doing better and they are both still being medicated for their coughs! For the most part....they are good! They may just need the rest this weekend to fully recover. Can't remember too much b/c I wore myself out with the early morning run...so let me think or rather "sleep" on it for a while and get back to blogging later!

No More "Little Fish"

Well, we wrapped up swim lessons last night....Requay seemed to cry the majority of the time and didn't want to even show her Daddy or her big brother that she can jump in from the side like a big girl...oh well, maybe we'll make it to the pool sometime and she can play and have fun! Jonah on the other hand, couldn't get enough of the water and kept "accidentally" putting his feet in the water! So finally when I realized that Requay wasn't going to swim with me, I told Jonah to JUMP in! He jumped in with a huge splash! And then started sinking.......apparently he's not really ready to jump in without assistance! oops....He had fun though anyway and jumped in another 2 or 3 times, so he was fine! We did take pictures of the kids sporting in their "shades" and relaxing on the lawn chair things they have at the pool....they looked so grown up! So Baby Girl got her certificate AND a sucker....she enjoyed the sucker more than the certificate, but like her teacher said, the certificates are for the parents and the suckers are for the kids! Oh so true!

Jonah was ALL ready to start his class, in fact at one point when Requay and I were toweling off, we started looking for Jonah b/c he was no where to be found! And then I saw him standing in front of the gate to go into the kiddie pool.....he was ready to go! They played for a while in the kiddie pool and then moved into the big pool...I took pics of him getting into the pool using the steps, sitting on the edge of the pool, using a kickboard (Power Rangers--he demanded that one!) and then swimming using his "ice cream scoop" hands! As they were swimming in the big pool, the older class was nearby and I guess they were going off the diving board for the first time b/c they all seemed a little scared to get on the board. There was this one little boy that slowly inched up on the board biting his nails and still trying to decide whether it was ok to jump off or not--the swim teachers were there to catch them so it wasn't like they were going to jump in and then not know what to do--but this one little boy, just didn't want to swim and a couple of times, even started walking backwards to get off the board! It was so funny that at one point I was watching that class and waving like I knew some kid in there or something! (Sorry Jonah) So back to Jonah's class.....the ended their swim lessons going back into the kiddie pool and Jonah got this pair of swim goggles and put them on! He looked so funny in them and we still don't know if he could actually see out of them! And then they also got their (my) certificate and suckers! We had a good experience at swim lessons this year...hopefully we can keep working with them on our own and they can become stronger swimmers than Jason or I!

So it's Friday--TGIF-- it's been a super long week for all of us and I was only at work for 3 days this week! I'm just exhausted though! And tomorrow, Angela and I run our first ever 5K run!! I know we can do it, we've just never been in a "race" situation so say a prayer that we're not the ones bent over puking or more likely falling due to tripping over another runner in front of us! The first of many miles to run! Wish us luck!

PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND: Kevin and Angela are coming up tonight for the 5K in the morning and then Kevin is going to spend the remainder of the weekend with a buddy of his here in Austin and Angela, Jason, the kids, and I will head back south to spend the weekend with Howard, Jason's friend there--he's an older man and Jason helps him around his place fixing fences or working with the horses or whatever needs to be done that Howard can't do--And then hopefully on Sunday, we'll head further south to meet Mom and Dad for church! I'll try to blog this weekend just to keep ya updated as far as our weekend goes.....so for now, have a GREAT weekend and catch'a bloggin' later!

Forgot about Danny and Sandy....

On Tuesday when we were home, we were watching TV and John Travolta (my all time favorite movie star!) was on Regis and Kelly.....I told Jonah that "Danny Zuko" (main character in Grease) was on TV and then Jonah pointed to Kelly Ripa and asked if she was "Sandy"....so we like to watch Grease when we're home by ourselves--Jonah and I watch and Baby Sister dances! What a great life!!

Continued from Yesterday.....

Sorry I didn't finish yesterdays but by the time I realized the time, it was time to go to swim lessons and I had to leave! But back to yesterday.....the kids went back to school on Wednesday and they both have coughs now. Medicating them both now! Such is the life of parents!

So swim lessons went well yesterday, Requay absolutely LOVES standing on the pool edge and jumping in to me!! She comes up all smiles....she's actually one of a few of the kids in her class that jumps off the side and goes underwater! I'm so proud of her....at the end of class, we played "the wheels on the bus go round and round" in the water...she especially likes it when the "windows go up and down" b/c I raise her in the air in and out of the water....she thinks that's fun!

And in Jonah's class, they swam and swam and swam some more, so much that they didn't have time to go play in the kiddie pool after lessons....this was quite sad for all the kids. Today is the last day of lessons and so I have the camera, sunglasses, and swim suits all ready for the big day! And as soon as I figure out how to put pics on this blog thing, I'll show you!

Forgot to mention....on Tuesday, I had a brand new bag of cotton balls for Jonah. (For those of you who don't know Jonah, he loves his cotton balls--they are his "comfort" thing--who knows!) Anyway, he had a new bag that he had pulled one little cotton out of and I told him to make sure he put them away so his sister didn't get them...well, he put them away, but forgot to "zip" them back up so of course, Requay, got into them and started throwing them all over the place! There were little white cotton balls all over the dining room floor--it looked like a bunny had pooped all over :o) So I told Jonah to pick up all the cotton balls and he informed me that he had not made the mess and that baby sister had made the mess and questioned me as to why HE had to pick up the cotton balls. I quickly reminded him that he had been told to close the bag but since he didn't, his sister got into them and had scattered them all over the place! So as Jonah started picking up the cotton balls, Requay began sticking the cotton balls in her mouth! (Reminder: we had cotton candy at Katy's 2nd birthday party at the beginning of the month!) I think she thought the cotton balls were cotton candy and so she was trying to eat them! Then Jonah started crying saying, "Baby Sister's eating my cotton balls!" So I took the cotton balls out of Requay's mouth and she started crying b/c I had taken her "cotton candy" away......kids! :o)

So tonights the last night of swim lessons...and it's "Parent's Night" which means that we can take pictures! And just as soon as I figure out how do it...I'll add them to this blog!

Not much more going on or that I can remember right now....but I'll keep a' thinkin'!!

Back to School and Work!

So we were out yesterday because Requay has strep throat. She started running a fever early Sunday morning and then continued running a fever all day Sunday and early Monday morning so I went ahead and scheduled a doctor appointment for her. Well, come to find out, she had strep throat so she got put on antibiotics early and before it got worse! So she's been a little needy--I mean more than usual! So the kids were with me yesterday....I couldn't take Jonah in to school......gotta go now, write more later, got swim lessons....

Our "4th of July" Weekend

Sorry so late, but I just didn't have the energy to do much of anything yesterday....I guess the week did me in! Friday night, we went over to Mr. Steven's house (Jason works with him) to watch the fireworks that were rescheduled from the 4th of July. And, I thought I'd come up with the great idea to run to Mr. Steven's house, I was guessing it was about 3 miles. But after a long week of work and swim lessons, running 3 miles wasn't as easy as I thought! I did however, still make the run in 45 minutes! So it wasn't too bad....oh and for those of you that I forgot to tell....I'm in training to run the half-marathon here in Austin in February! I've always wanted to run a marathon--so I'm starting off with the half first!

So we watched fireworks from the driveway of Mr. Steven's house--they were cool--but the kids didn't seem too impressed with them. I think they were tired too. After the fireworks, Requay and I went to relax in Mr. Steven's tub--I was hot and sweaty from the run and well Baby Girl just couldn't stand to be away from me....she's for sure a "Mommy's girl" right now anyway. After our bath, Jonah, Requay and I watched "The fast and the furious" part 2. It was pretty good and Jonah kept saying that he was that car or this car--whichever one went the fastest! He enjoyed it! We didn't get home until late and the kids were already passed out when we got home. Jonah slept until about 9:30 or 10:00 in the morning and Requay slept until 11:00AM!!!! WOW--late night for Baby Sister! Poor Jason didn't get to spend much time at home on Saturday b/c he was on call this weekend and seemed to spend it down in Buda the majority of the weekend...he says they were "service calls" but you know Cabela's is down there too!

This morning, Sunday, by the time the kids and I woke up, Jason was out already on yet another service call! The kids and I went to church....they were pretty good, but I bribed Jonah...I told him that if he was good in church, he could play on the little play sets that they have outside the church--he was good! So the kids played for a little bit and then we went home. I don't think Baby Sister was feeling well--she was running a fever last night and I've already given her 2 doses of Motrin since early this morning....no fevers this afternoon, but she still seems to not feel well. We'll see how she feels tomorrow.

I am attempting to clean house, Jonah is watching "The Transformers" on the little DVD player that goes in the car and Jason and Requay are watching "Wyatt Earp"--I don't believe it was Baby Girls turn to pick the movie! Well, I'll blog more later.....

Just Exhausted.....

So we finished up our first week of swim lessons last night. And boy, are we exhausted! Yesterday wasn't as much fun for the kids b/c it was "safety class" so they taught the kids about water safety, boating safety, and using life jackets and all--good info, but for a 4 year old not so much fun! They did get to go into the big pool and play in the kiddie pool after that 20 minute lesson so it made up for the boring stuff! And in Jonah's class the teacher was telling the kids that if there is someone in the water that was in trouble, for them to NOT go in to help b/c then there would be "double trouble"(2 people needing help)--well this little girl popped up with, "I have that game at home, it's fun!" All the parents outside were laughing!

Requay and I had a good lesson too, I guess my arms aren't as strong as I hoped they would be b/c I've been picking her up and down in the water and working with her alot going under, getting her to "jump" (which ends up being like sliding) into the pool from the side of the pool, and just playing with her so my arms are a little sore. She had fun today but kept asking for "mo" as usual. And then, she noticed some little birds playing in the grass by the pool and she couldn't stop waving to them and telling them hello! So cute, but I had to keep reminding her that we were there for swimming--not waving to birdies!! Maybe we can go swimming this weekend and play in the water and talk to the birdies, the kids would really enjoy that!

We got to bed late last night b/c we cleaned house....we're getting a new dining room table! So we needed to make room for that! And if all goes as planned we're going to watch the 4th of July fireworks that were rescheduled from last week! The kids will love that!

Everyone is good...just a bit tired...I told the kids they could "sleep in" tomorrow! No big plans for the weekend. I need to clean house b/c we're going out of town next weekend (Victoria) and then Mom and Dad (AKA: Lito/Lita) are coming to spend the following weekend with the kids! Boy will they have fun! And Jason needs to go do work in his hay field, but other than that...nothing big. Maybe I'll check to see if they're showing the "Transformers" movie at the dollar theatre! I'll keep a'posting!

Wrapping Up Week 1 of Swimming

Well, Jonah and Requay had their 3rd swim lesson last night...they are really enjoying the water! Jonah more than Requay, but all Requay wants to do is have "mo" (her mommy's milk). I did put her under water and she thought it was just the funniest thing ever!! She laughed and laughed and laughed! She does perfect with the teacher though! Today they are officially "going under"...so we'll see how she does!

Jonah is turning into a little swimming fish and still says that he's a "Big Boy" and can swim in the "Big Pool"! I'm just glad that he's not scared of the big pool...whew! He has a blast swimming!! And he's just so cute with his little spider-man or shark trunks that he wears! They showed him how to hold your hands when you dive in the pool so he "swam" (being held by the teacher) with his hands in front of him and his little feet kicking! He's growing up so fast!!

Not much more new stuff with the kids....it's supposed to rain next week so we'll see how the swim lessons go!

Splish Splash...Swim Swim

Well, we made it thru another fun day of swim lessons! Requay and I joined our class, but she really didn't want anything to do with the water and noticed how "open" my swimsuit was and so really only wanted some "mo"--which is Requay talk for mommy's milk! The swim instructor came and took her and she did absolutely perfect....no crying, no whining, no asking for "mo"...she swam on her tummy and her back, kicked her little feet and blew bubbles with her teacher! I was so proud! And then the teacher gave Requay back to me and she wanted more "mo" again.....(sigh) At the end of the lesson, we sang the "wheels on the bus go round and round" and turned Requay in circles and then up and down in the water when the "windows" of the bus went up and down--she LOVED that!! It seems that when you have kids, each day is a learning experience....so today I packed a snack for the kids b/c when I picked them up from school yesterday-they were starving! (oh and by the way--we used the stairs again to get out of the pool...)

As for Jonah, well, he just LOVES playing in the kiddie pool and as we watched from outside the "parent fence" he went to the big pool and splashed and played and looked like he was having fun there too! He got to show off his muscles again and then they all stretched their arms up in a "diving" position....I guess there was a reason for showing their muscles! He likes the water.....Thank God!

So when we got home, it was of course, a mad dash to feed the kids (they were STARVING--according to Jonah) feed ourselves, take baths, pack lunches for Jason and I, pack for swim the next day, and eventually go to sleep exhausted....whew! After Requay went to bed--it didn't take her long--Jonah cracked Jason and I up with his intelligence! (Sorry if this is embarrassing, but it's too funny not to blog!) So Jason was in the kitchen last night and farted--well Jason said something about him farting and Jonah told him that "fart" was a bad word and that Jason shouldn't say that word, so Jason of course apologized for saying a "bad word" and told Jonah that he would start using the word "toot" and Jonah came back with "why don't you say 'pass gass' Dad". Jason and I just laughed and laughed about it! Later that night, I accidentally walked into one of Jason's bad "gas clouds" and I started choking! I ran to the living room and fell onto the couch b/c I couldn't breath! (I may be overexaggerating a bit) but when Jonah asked me what was wrong, I told him that I had run into one of Dad's gas clouds and I had fart smell in my nose....so he told me that if I wanted, he would breath into my nose to give me his breath and get fart smell out of my nose! I LOVE MY BABIES!!

Swim Lessons Started!

So today is Day #2 of swim lessons for the kids! Yesterday went well...Jonah was SO excited to be able to get into the pool, but when he asked (for reassurance reasons) if he would be in the kiddie pool-I told him yes! I wasn't lieing...they did start out in the kiddie pool, but then they made it out to the big pool after that!! I thought Jonah would be scared, but he wasn't! We couldn't see to well because the pool people make all parents wait OUTSIDE the fence when our kids are swimming--so Jason, Requay and I watched anxiously to see if Jonah would be crying like that other little girl that refused to even touch the water! At one point we saw Jonah "showing off his muscles"...they are so cute!! He's in his spider-man trunks and tan as a boy can get!! I teased with Jonah telling him that only "big kids" got in the big pool...and he would say that he was a big kid and that's why he was in the big pool! Maybe I was more scared than him.....

And as for Requay, well I got in the pool with her and we played, blowing bubbles and attempting to lay on her back and then on her tummy! She liked the water and looked the cutest in her little hand-me down bathing suit! The instructors showed us how to get in with our kids and how to get out also. The getting in was pretty easy for us, but the getting out--not so easy! I tried what the instructor said, but I hurt my wrist trying to pull myself up...yes, I obviously need to do more push-ups! So we, Requay and I, decided that we should go use the stairs instead....We'll try it again today and see how it goes! After Requay's class was done, she managed to find the mud puddles behind the pool and got her little brown sandals all dirty and muddy....her legs too! Well, I gotta go for today---got swim lessons to go to!! Wish us luck on getting out of the pool!!

Ok, so Meg introduced me to this blog so that I won't feel so bad about all the scrapping I'm not doing! I also got it so that my close friends and family can get on it and see what exactly my kiddos are doing and how big they are growing! So...here goes my blog! Ready, Set, BLOG!!!
