That's What Friends Are For!

Greetings all! I hadn't realized that I hadn't blogged all month until my great friend Meg brought it to my attention, wanting to know if Jonah ever got better or if Baby Girl still loves me lot lot! Sorry guys!

So let's see....where to start? Well first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITO!! It was my Dad's birthday at the beginning of the month and the kids called to sing him happy birthday...all in unison and in tune of course! You know though, when I tell the kids that it's somebody's birthday they ask if they can go to their "happy birthday" which means they want to go to the party. I don't think they realize that not everyone has birthday parties since they have one every year! :o)

That following weekend, my friend Angela and I competed in the Women's Adventure Race that they have every year. It was tons of fun....we got to run, swim, run some more and then go thru an obstacle course! And then during the running parts, there were little games we'd stop for like throwing our rubber chicken thru wooden holes, being handcuffed, three-legged racing and popping balloons without using our hands!! After the race, Angela needed to visit IKEA and since I had never been there, she introduced me to it--OMG! THAT PLACE IS AWESOME....I'm totally going back!!! We had a great time and I got to spend some more time with another one of my great friends!

And then let's see, we got to enjoy Baby Girl's Madrina, Ledezma and her kids during Hurricane Ike...that was a blast! (Not to worry though, they were here prior to Ike moving towards Houston and didn't even get some rain--blah!) We had a blast also playing at the Chick-fil-A play land and then since Ledezma had not been to IKEA and since I was such an expert, I figured I needed to introduce Ledezma to the wonderful world of IKEA! So off we went and dropped the kids at their "Smaland" to play in a huge ball pit! They had a blast...and we didn't spend TOO much money! (wink wink)

So Jason and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary on the 16th. We normally take off on the day and spend it together (with the kids in school). So, we dropped off the kids, I went for a run--it felt awesome--went to Carraba's for lunch and then hit the big store of Wal-mart to "shop for our anniversary gifts." We exchanged anniversary cards and then put them back so we didn't have to waste the money! I guess Jason's "cheapness" is rubbing off on me....we had a great anniversary with no interruptions from people needing to go "peep" (Requay's word for potty) or needing to clean their hands or want their food cut up! I love it, but sometimes it's nice to have a break!

And we also purchased a set of bunk beds for the kids and the baby crib, changing table and toddler bed have officially been disassembled and placed in storage. It was kinda sad putting the crib away to make room for bunk beds. And I let the kids pick out their own bed spreads and all so Jonah chose "Transformers" and Baby Girl chose "Princess" that has Cinderella, Belle and Sleeping Beauty. And Princess is SO Requay!

Well, I need to go for now not because I want to stop blogging, but because my day is coming to an end! So until Meg emails again to tell me to blog some more(hint, hint).....happy reading!
